Member Galleries - Jim Ott
I was born in Concord, California on August 28, 1940. I’ve lived in
the Bay Area all my life -- mainly in San Pablo, Pinole, Pleasant Hill and, since 1986, in Crockett. After attending high school at De Anza in El Sobrante, I served a 3 ½-year stint in the U.S. Army then worked in the trucking industry for 31 years. When I retired from trucking 16 yrs ago, I began repairing and improving houses for various realtors. In addition, I spent a lot of time doing what I enjoyed most – designing and building decks, fences and, mainly, custom gates and doors from redwood. Finally, after my second retirement, and not touching a brush or pencil in over 36 years, I returned to my artwork. I secured a space for an art studio in Emeryville and joined the Pinole Artisans. Through the group, I’ve been fortunate to meet other artists and begin exhibiting my art at various shows. |
Getting your work in the galleryIf you are a member of the Pinole Artisans and you want to see your artwork in this gallery, please drop off a cd for the webmaster at the Art Center with up to 30 jpg images. On the cd include a text document with a biographical statement or whatever statement you want to appear in your gallery. The photos should be no smaller than 650px x 650px at a resolution of at least 72ppi. If your files are larger I can resize them, but if they're smaller than this - they will not be usable. The file name for each photo should be the name of the piece as you want it to appear in your gallery. For example if the title of your piece is "Mice on a Block of Cheese" your file name should be "Mice on a Block of Cheese.jpg" (without the quotation marks). |
