Watercolor Painting with Penny

Writer: Bill VoigtBill Voigt

This month's class is going to be a "Rose Bud". We have tried to have this class a couple of times, and something always seems to happen. Unfortunately, we have not been able to paint this beautiful rose yet. I'm not giving up, I'm trying again.

The bottom right corner will be all dark, except for the greenery of the rose on the left, I think it will be very striking.

The class will be on Saturday, October 26, at the El Sobrante United Methodist Church, 670 Appian Way, El Sobrante, in Room #1.

Class will begin at 8:30 am to set up, and start painting at 9 am, there will be an hour's lunch, and we will finish about 3:30 or 4:00 pm.

My fee is $50.00 for the day. If you need supplies provided for you it will be an extra $10.00.

The painting will be on a quarter sheet of watercolor paper, 11 x 15. My preference is Arches 300lb Cold Press. I would like you to use the same paper if possible, it's a great paper, that's a little heavier, and it is easier to make corrections on, and you get better results. I can assist with the paper if you like.

The space is limited, so if you want to paint, please let me know as soon as possible. I do need you to let me know if you are painting, because I have patterns to make and pictures to print, and set up the room for the number of students I have. Drop-in works sometimes. if I have enough supplies for them, but you can't always count on that, you have to let me know if you are coming.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. 510 333-4974

Hope to see you soon,

Penny Bledsoe

P. S. Traditionally I don't give classes in November and December because of the Holidays, so this will be the last class until January. I hope to see you all there.
