MY ART STATEMENT I am a fiber artist, who learnt traditional textile techniques when growing up and teaching them in Switzerland. After coming to California, and participating in a Master art program emphasized on fiber and mixed media, I used those techniques in new ways and with unusual material. Wearable art as costumes, sculptures and wall hangings were created to express concerns and emotions. After a longer break from creating art with being a mother of a young child I continued with wall hangings and eventually added functional wearable art and accessories. For the wearable art I create the design for the fabric through a specific process with photography, painting and drawing, then that image gets printed on various fabrics by a professional company. I sew all the items myself, adding unique ribbons, yarn, beads, closures and hand crochet straps. I enjoy making beautiful things, which people seem to like wearing and give them joy.
