Exploring Mosaic Art with Jesse Medina: Pinole Artisans' Next Meeting on April 12, 2024

We are pleased to have Jesse Medina as presenter at the Pinole Artisans Monthly Meeting.

Jesse Medina is a Berkeley based mosaic artist who’s passion for the craft has driven him to adorn the Bay Area with over 50 works of public art since 2013. His murals can be seen throughout the East Bay on walls, businesses, and various litter containers. Jesse has been publicly recognized by the City of Oakland Public Works Department for his participation in the Keep Oakland Beautiful project. As a first generation Mexican American who has faced adversity he hopes that through his art he can inspire others to take up the practice of mosaics and find healing but also lots of enjoyment just like he has.

Jesse will be doing a demo on his process of making mosaics and will also have the attendees build their own small versions. Here is an excellent short video to introduce Jesse.

El Sobrante United Methodist Church, Keisler Room 7:00 PM

We'd love to see examples of your artwork. Please bring a piece to share. There will be refreshments and a fun program!
