Mike Delcollo is an artist born and raised in El Sobrante who shares his artwork using his nickname Daydream Maker. He was fortunate to be raised in a home and environment that was conducive to creative thought, growth, and play. With support and encouragement from his parents, especially from his father, Mike developed an appreciation of the arts and had exposure to a wide range of crafts from an early age. Being a daydreamer, he cultivated his imagination through drawing and creative writing. The eventual discovery of his love of painting on canvas drove Mike to pursue fine arts in college, but the search for a career - one suitable for a right-brained individual - proved to be a dizzying and circuitous process which led to the completion of diplomas at various colleges and vocational schools.

During his journey, he met his wonderful wife Heather; the artist within her understands the struggles involved with balancing an adult life - health, work, being a parent, along with the burning desire to create art. Together, they are raising their daughter (and two dogs and a cat) in their hometown. While his main focus in life is being a good husband and father, he finds time to daydream and hone his skills to reach his full potential as a painter. Mike enjoys landscape, portrait, and genre painting and considers Malcolm Dewey, John Berkey, Eugéne Boudin, Manoj Sakale, Jennifer Spaker, Camille Przewodek, and Kyle Ma as influences.

Come join us on September 12th to learn more about Mike, his inspiration, works, and techniques.
